Live online workshop • Level 1

Listen to the language of being stuck.

You may already describe the problem as “going in circles,” “hitting a wall,” “carrying too much,” or having “no way forward.” Metaphors of Movement gives you a structured way to notice those metaphors, explore them, and work with what is already present.

This six-session workshop is experiential from the beginning. You will learn through guided exploration, live practice, reflection, and breakout-room work with other participants.

No prerequisites. Participant manual included.

Why this approach?

You already speak in metaphors. Most of us do.

When change is difficult, our language often becomes surprisingly physical. We feel blocked, trapped, burdened, pulled, pushed, lost, or unable to move.

Metaphors of Movement takes that language seriously. Instead of debating whether the metaphor is “true,” the workshop helps you notice the structure of the experience and explore what happens when you engage it directly.

This is an experiential exploration—not a theoretical exploration of Metaphors of Movement.
“I keep going in circles.”
“I keep hitting a wall.”
“I’m carrying too much.”
“I’m pulled in two directions.”
Metaphors of Movement — a visual journey from stuckness toward movement
From the language of stuckness toward movement. The workshop turns everyday metaphors into something you can notice and explore directly.
What happens in the workshop

Notice it. Explore it. Practice it.

The workshop is built around direct experience rather than passive instruction.

1

Notice

Pay attention to the movement language already present in the way you describe a difficult or stuck situation.

2

Explore

Work with the metaphor as part of the structure of your experience rather than treating it as a figure of speech to ignore.

3

Practice

Use live guided exercises and breakout-room practice to experience the process rather than only hear about it.

4

Build familiarity

Return across six sessions so the language and process become easier to recognize and work with.

Is this for you?

You do not need prior training—or a perfectly defined problem.

Level 1 is an entry point. The invitation is simple: bring your curiosity and be willing to notice what is already there.

No prerequisites. No expectation that you already understand the method. No need to arrive with a polished goal.

This workshop may be a good fit if you are curious about:

Why some situations continue to feel stuck even when you understand them intellectually.

How metaphor can reveal something about the structure of your experience.

Experiential personal-growth work rather than another information-heavy course.

Practicing with others in a live, guided environment.

Adding another method of exploration alongside personal-growth or contemplative work you already do.
